Welcome!

'Unforeseen Expectations' is a blog documenting the life of the three Schallmo's: Kelly, Matthew & Reagan.

We have a new addition to the family. Our first-born son, Reagan is our most recent unforeseen expectation of God's blessings. Join us on our journey...we don't know what to expect.

Crossville Bound

Reagan and I decided to go visit everyone in Crossville, so he and I ventured off BY OURSELVES! YIKES!!!!! Eight hours later, we got there, but I'm pretty sure I looked like I had stuck my finger in a light socket....blood shot eyes and all from all the screaming.  Anyway, once we got there, it was a wonderful trip.  We packed soooooo much into one week, starting with a ride on the mower with Pa:)  They did four laps and Reagan was ready for bed.

I caught them down by the barn looking at the tractor.

The next day, he and Kinley had a playdate.

That night, Nanny came over, gave him a bath, got him ready for bed, and of course.....got some cuddle time in.

Telling secrets:)
P.S.- If you notice the pill bottle in the picture, don't be alarmed.  Pa took a bunch of empty bottles and filled them with coins.  The best toys are homemade.

Nanny gave him a massage every night before bed.
Uh oh.....I'm gonna have to keep it up.

On Sunday, we celebrated my Great Granny Tabor's 94th birthday!!
Make a wish!!!

Of course, Reagan gobbled up all the good food.  His favorite foods on the trip were chicken 'n dumplins, corn on the cob, and mac 'n cheese.

Another food he loved was Pa's strawberry yogurt.

Another day, Pa took Reagan and I to a lake in town for some good fun.

We had to keep his paci in, because he kept biting the float.

Back at Nanny's house, she had a special cabinet of tons of tupperware for him to play with.

After a few hours on the drive back, Reagan took over.....I mean, I was getting tired and he seemed to know what he was doing:)

Last night when we got home, Daddy and Reagan snuggled in the crib. Haha!
Thanks, Nanny, for the breathable bumper!  It works great:)

Great Afternoon at the Lake

With the weather overcast and storms forecasted for late evening, what better to do than go to Ivy Lake before it hits.  Plus, hardly anyone was there:)

Before Reagan realized that he was surrounded by sand...

Then.....

Daddy buried his legs:)

Water time

"Daddy, I wanna go in all the way!"

Completely naked!! Haha!

I finally got in once I felt the water.  It was perfect!

AND GUESS WHO GOT ANOTHER TOOTH TODAY.......YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!

Look What I Can Do

I used to dream about the days that Reagan could crawl, sit up, etc.... Hahaha!! What was I thinking?!  He's a man on a mission going anywhere and everywhere at warp speed.  He spends a lot of his days playing in his bedroom by himself......and well....me in there trying to distract him from all the things he should not be getting into.

His favorite pastime is currently pulling ALL of his books out of the shelf.  Maybe having them on the bottom wasn't such a good idea after all.

Of all the books, he likes the Ronald Reagan one. Hehe!

Since he can now sit up on the floor, he has realized that he can sit up in the crib, too, and pull himself up to stand.  So, needless to say, after a couple days of standing and sitting instead of sleeping, we lowered the crib mattress to the lowest notch and removed his bumpers, because they were becoming a HUGE distraction....didn't stop him, though.  So, yesterday, I looked at the video monitor and thought to myself "What in the world is he doing? Where are his legs?"

So, Matthew and I peeked in to find this!!!!!!!
Keep me in your prayers!!!!! HAHAHA!

New York Vacation

We finally got to take a trip to New York for a whole week!! Here are a few of my favorite pics that didn't make it to Facebook.
Reagan and his cousin, Connor watching a show on the iPad:)

Reagan: "Let's hold hands."

Connor couldn't understand that just because he used the exersaucer last summer, it didn't mean it was his.  Haha! He was gently moving Reagan's hands off of the toys! Too cute.

A little pool time:)

Reagan's swimming trunks hanging next to Uncle Jonathan's

Cousin Connor showing Reagan how to put on a life jacket

By the end of the week, that hat no longer fit anymore, so look who got it.

Daddy and Reagan drove us to Boldt Castle

Did I mention that Reagan got his first tooth on the trip!!!!!
