Welcome!

'Unforeseen Expectations' is a blog documenting the life of the three Schallmo's: Kelly, Matthew & Reagan.

We have a new addition to the family. Our first-born son, Reagan is our most recent unforeseen expectation of God's blessings. Join us on our journey...we don't know what to expect.

Daddy = FUN

Daddies are just plain fun........what can you say?  Mommy works all day feeding, changing, and playing and then when Daddy gets home, his face lights up and the fun begins all over again......starting with a nice back massage on the porch!!!.......uh, hello, what about Mommy? Hehe!!

Grilling steaks and veggies.......yum!!  Well, actually none of it was yummy at all.  I'm pretty sure the date on the meat was wrong and the veggies stayed crunchy and were poorly seasoned.   Oh well, every once in a while you have to have a dud meal.

Reagan and Daddy being silly showing off their "big boy" hats!

We found a new way to use the Boppy......Except he looks like he is missing a remote and a beer! After all, it was a hard day, guys!! Haha!

Watching another action-packed "boys" movie with you-know-who:)

Oh yeah, Maggie was watching, too!  Is it me or is she giving a mean look to me? Haha!  Maybe she is remembering the days when she got to cuddle with Daddy all to herself and got massages.

Chillin' in Daddy's lap after a super long walk around the neighborhood.  Wishin' we had taken a shorter walk, because we passed a motorcycle for sale on one of the side streets and I haven't heard the end of it since:)

Big Trip to the Park

I love the fact that Reagan takes naps so well in his crib; however, he won't take one anywhere else now. He used to sleep in my arms..........no more.  Needless to say, our big ventures outside of the house are quick-lived and planned between naps.  So, our big trip to the park lasted about an hour and a half. Haha! There's only so much a 4 month old can do at the park anyway, so we just laid around and took pictures of ourselves:)

Reagan lounging with his leg thrown over mine:)

He melts my heart......

Judging by the measly three pictures, you can tell how quick our park trip was......at least it's close to home:)

Reagan and Daddy

Mama isn't the only one who gets to hang out with the "Little King" (the meaning of "Reagan").  Daddy squeezes in lots of play time, too!  Reagan LOVES his Daddy so much:)

Two couch potatoes watching who knows what:)

How many chins do you have, Reagan!?!

Having a secret conversation for "boys only"

First time ever wearing jeans.  Too cool for school!

Daddy giving Reagan a lesson on how to grab his hanging toys under his activity mat.

A quick visit to Daddy's office to make sure he was working...He was:)

Daddy painting our front steps.  Man...he looks GOOD:)

Hitchin' a Ride to Tennessee

Nanny came to visit us for a short weekend trip! The trips are never long enough, but we will take what we can get!!  As you can see, someone is a bit jealous of Nanny giving all of her attention to Reagan:)

We also got our first snow of the year!!

We had so much fun with Nanny that Reagan and I loaded up and road back to Tennessee with her. So proud of what a good boy he was for the entire trip:)

Reagan got to see Kinley who is only a few weeks younger than him.  "Reagan, you're not suppose to hog the entire picture.  That's rude. Haha!"

Danielle even stopped by after work to give him a bottle:)

This is one true couch potato!!

Love the foot rattles!! He is so fascinated by them.

Reagan got to spend a lot of time with his Pa:)

Watching basketball games....Go VOLS!!

Walking around the house...with a little help:)

 Nana also enjoyed our visit!

I wanted to surprise Matthew with a whole new look when I returned so we headed to the salon!  This was a before shot.  "Poor Reagan, you're not alone.  Being at the salon ALL DAY will tire anyone out."

Then...

Next, Mama foiled some Mocha throughout:)  I promise it's not purple even though it looks like it in this picture!!

The finished product with a new nose ring!! The ring is really not black.  It's from the black sharpie that was under the stone.  Getting it done was not nearly as painful as the week after!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Matthew LOVED it and that made it all worth it:) :)  A new look for a new mom.

And of course, one more picture of my little man before we left.

My dad said that if we rode down with my mom, then he would drive us back whenever we were ready! Sounded like a great deal to me:)  We stayed a week and two days...until we couldn't stand being away from Daddy any longer.  It was a great trip, as usual!!

Reagan's First Trip To Syracuse

With only a week's notice we packed up the car and took our first trip to Syracuse with Reagan.  He did very well in the car.  I ended up spending a lot of the trip in the back, too.  Thanks, Daddy, for driving the whole way!
As soon as we got there Nana and Grandpa loved all over him:)

Then, he got to meet the Hodgkins for the first time!

Reagan got to see snow for the first time and was finally able to wear his snowsuit from the Michigan Schallmos:)
Then, off to church we went!  Reagan saw Daddy lead worship and Grandpa preach for the first time:)  He sat right in the front row so he wouldn't miss anything.

Then, after the service there was baby shower for us!! Thank you to all who brought food and gifts!! It was absolutely perfect and so much fun:)
Trey Jackson and Reagan finally got to meet! Yay!  They were only born 3 days apart!
Then, the next morning we got back in the car and drove back to Virginia:(  We had so much fun and can't wait for our next visit!!
