Welcome!

'Unforeseen Expectations' is a blog documenting the life of the three Schallmo's: Kelly, Matthew & Reagan.

We have a new addition to the family. Our first-born son, Reagan is our most recent unforeseen expectation of God's blessings. Join us on our journey...we don't know what to expect.

LOOOONG Days (After The Hospital)

5 Days - 15 Days Old
(He sure is getting more handsome by the day)...thats a professional opinion.

Dec 4th Reagan had his first pediatrician office visit. He gained 1oz since he left the hospital. After he was born, to the time we left the hospital, Reagan lost 1lb 3oz (which is totally normal). Our little guy today (Dec 15th) had another visit and he gained 1 full pound in a little over two weeks. He hates to be weighed - like Mommy...and now Daddy. lol

He was fussy being naked in the Dr. office I guess there were too many girls around (he was embarrassed being naked)

His first smile! I think he was just passing gas. lol

Daddy and Reagan take lots of naps together! Mommy needs more pictures of herself.

Maggie realizes it is feeding time.

Maggie helps feed him. Hey look... There is a picture of Mommy's hand! (Someone, not to name any names has been camera shy).

Full tummy - Thanks Maggie for helping!

Look how small his hands are!

He is such a sound sleeper...shhhhh don't wake him. We need the sleep.

What a handsome man. He is 15 days old by now.

---------------------------------------

We have forgot to mention all the family who traveled hours to be here for the birth of Reagan.
  • Jay & Sarahann Cagle moved down from Syracuse the Tuesday before Thanksgiving to attend graduate school at Liberty University. Mom & Dad (Dan & Cindy Schallmo) came with them to help them move down.
  • Jonathan, Lindsay & baby Connor Schallmo came up from Charlotte, NC to have Thanksgiving at Sarahann & Jay's house. We had a blast!!!
    • Kelly was supposed to deliver the day after Thanksgiving, but didn't. We were hoping that the NC Schallmo's would be here for the delivery, but couldn't stay.
  • Terry Cope (Kelly's Dad) came from Crossville, TN came on Sunday the 27th (I think). Terry stayed through Saturday, Dec 3rd. He did dozens of winterization projects around the house for us. Thank you Dad!!!
  • Anne Stout (Kelly's Mom) came in a dash on Monday afternoon from Crossville, TN and arrived late in the night. Anne was ready for weeks for the call. She stayed one full week to help us settle with Reagan after we left the hospital. Thank you Mom!
  • Cindy and Dan Schallmo (Matthew's parents) left on Wednesday Nov 30th one day after Reagan was born. They were in town for 8 days waiting for Reagan to come. Thank you Sarahann and Jay for housing Mom and Dad. Guys, thank you for staying so long!
  • One day after Anne left, Cindy (Matthew's Mom) came back to help Kelly when Matthew returned to work. Cindy stayed until Saturday, Dec 10th (5 wonderful days). Thank you for all the help Mom!!
We are loving all the visitors (Family & Friends). We are being blessed with so many gifts, meals, desserts and company. Thank you everyone for providing delicious meals. These meals were organized by Danielle Reynolds and Liz Monroe (they set up 2 separate Meal Trains to coordinate this). Thank you girls! The food has been incredible!! We should be taking pictures of all the guests too... lol.
